Dr. Eric Zacharias
Eric Zacharias is the Chief Medical Officer for COPIC, a medical professional liability insurance company with a focus on patient safety and risk management. He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center where he remains on clinical faculty. He has practiced in a large, multispecialty group for 25 years where he served as department chair, medical director for patient safety, and board chair for a multi-system clinically integrated network. Dr. Zacharias is also the author of The Mediterranean Diet: A Clinician’s Guide for Patient Care, Springer 2012, and host of COPIC’s podcast, Within Normal Limits. When not working in healthcare, Dr Zacharias likes spending time with his family, trail running, and watching college sports.
