Dr Hashim (Hash) Abdeen is a Rheumatology & General Medicine Advanced Trainee in Queensland and is the current Chair of the Federal AMA Council of Doctors in Training (CDT). He was the Chair of the Australasian Junior Medical Officers’ Committee (AJMOC) and also the Chair of the Queensland State Junior Medical Officer Forum (JMOFQ) in 2017. He has also been one of the Gold Coast Hospital’s AMA Queensland Council of Doctors in Training (CDT) representatives since 2016, and was Chair of the AMAQ CDT in 2019. He is also the current Co-Chair of the Queensland RACP Trainees’ Committee and Deputy CoChair of the Bi-national RACP College Trainees’ Committee. Hash is passionate about advocating for a positive training environment that ensures the quality of education and training whilst concurrently promoting the wellbeing of doctors in training and medical students. He appreciates the ever-growing need of the medical profession to take leadership in the Australian Healthcare system: to actively represent ourselves as doctors in concert to passionately advocating for our patients. He has aspirations to complete his Rheumatology & General Medicine training and further expand his interests in medical administration and in health policy & advocacy.
